The Edinburgh Wheel The Edinburgh Wheel, beside The Scott Monument in East Princes Street Gardens was one of the attractions for Edinburgh's Christmas and New Year celebrations in 2011. There were also several other fairground rides and an ice skating rink in East Princes Street Gardens. Some of the illuminated trees in Princes Street Gardens can be seen in the background of this photo. |

Santa Train The Santa Train can be seen standing in this photo passing beneath the Edinburgh wheel. The train gave rides along Princes Street between Jenners and the West End during the Christmas Season, 2011, while Princes Street was closed to all other traffic except cycles until the new tram lines had been re-laid. In the photo at the top of this page, the train has just left its terminus at Jenners, and is turning to head for the West End.
