"The Edinburgh city centre boxes more or less stopped being used around 1986, except for this one, Box 17 in Rose Street.  This box did not fit the traditional image of a police box (below)"

"Instead it was actually the painted white fronted corner of the building in this photo.  The blue door in Rose Street was its entrance."

"I took this photo in September 2014.  I don't know whether or not this box is still being used by the Police."
