2008
The
Greek firm AirSea Lines is carrying out a feasibility study into operating
regular seaplane services in Scotland. They hope to have their
first route in Scotland operating in 2008, followed by others over the
next five years.
Routes being considering include:
- Leith to English Lake District and
- Leith to Western Isles of Scotland.
Such
planes, capable of carrying 18 passengers each, might take about an
hour to reach their destinations. Fares might be about £200
return.
Another firm, Loch Lomond Seaplanes, already runs
trips from the Clyde to the Scottish Highlands and Islands. |
