Roseneath Place
"No.14 Roseneath Place
was hit. I was living on the top
floor and remember digging my brother out
from the ceiling which had collapsed. He
is still, today,
sleeping in the exact same place where it happened.
My strongest memory was my
first drink of soda water in the air-raid shelter and afterwards the
long walk to Tollcross school where we slept on the floor for 2
weeks until my granny made room for us.
The damage is still
visible on the outside from
Marchmont Crescent.
