"No.14 Roseneath Place was hit.  I was living on the top floor and remember digging my brother out from the ceiling which had collapsed.  He is still, today, sleeping in the exact same place where it happened.

My strongest memory was my first drink of soda water in the air-raid shelter and afterwards the long walk to Tollcross school where we slept on the floor for 2 weeks until my granny made room for us.

The damage is still visible on the outside from Marchmont Crescent.
