Easter Eggs "As kids, we used to take our Easter Eggs (chocolate if we were lucky) and hard boiled coloured eggs to roll down the slope at Starbank Park. They broke, then we proceeded to eat them. Not a big deal for children in this day and age, but my it was a grand treat and great excitement. It didn't take much to entertain us, did it?" Easter Eggs Starbank Park "How different things are these days, from when I was young and lived in Edinburgh. On Easter Sunday, after church and lunch, we always had a visit to Starbank Park, down near to Newhaven. My, it was always so very busy, with so many youngsters rolling their Easter Eggs and not the chocolate ones either - hard boiled real eggs, many decorated as best our parents could do, with whatever they had, and yet we were thrilled to bits!!!" Today "I've just seen a picture in our local paper, where the youngster's were let loose to collect as many Choc Eggs as they could collect in quite a sizeable bucket they were given. They could hardly have had a clear bit of grass to walk upon as the ground was just covered in Choc Eggs. I just wonder if they were as happy and satisfied with a bucket full, as we were with our one real hard boiled egg, don't think so somehow!! Still it was nice to see lot's of lovely smiling faces, but sad though so many, these days, don't know what the rolled egg is all about, and the Easter Story."
