Here is
the front of an Edinburgh Corporation Map. The map is not dated but
I believe that it was published in 1926.

The folded size of this map(105mm x 145mm) is a
little larger than the 1924 map (100mm x 135mm) but the silhouette
on the cover is the same.
The buildings silhouetted against the skyline are:
- Princes Street
- National Monument, Calton Hill
- Nelson Monument, Calton Hill
- North British Railway Hotel (now Balmoral
Hotel)
- Scott Monument
- National Gallery of Scotland
R Stewart Pilcher was the Tramways Manager for at
least a decade, up until November 1928, when he moved to become
General Manager of the Manchester Corporation trams. |
