platinotype print above is the size of a cabinet print.
However, unlike a
'normal cabinet print' the back of the print is blank and the
photographer's name has been added with a blind stamp bearing the
words:
Black & White
73 Leith Street
Edinburgh

Was 'Black & White' James Paton's Company, 'Black & White Art' ...
... or was it William Macalpine's company, which was based at 73 Leith
Street at the end of the First World War?
