Who and When?

Thank you to Chris Dolphin, York, Yorkshire for permission to reproduce the photograph above, together with the photograph wallet and wrapping paper that contained the photo  -  all from the studio of Campbell Harper.

The photograph is numbered 60555.  Chris would like to discover more about the photo, particularly the name and date.

I believe that no records matching photograph numbers and names of sitters have survived from the company - or for other Edinburgh photographers of this period or earlier.

However, the number might be used to date the photos.  Numbers would have been added to photos chronologically.  Does anybody have any photos from this studio that are both numbered and dated?  If so, they may be useful in determining approximately when the photograph above was taken.

Campbell Harper Ltd

Campbell Harper were based at 131, 135 Leith Walk from 1920 until 1960.  However the company became John Campbell Harper Ltd from 1947 onwards.

The photograph wallet and name on the wrapping paper above make no mention of 'Ltd', yet the style of photograph appears to me to be fairly modern, so perhaps the photograph was taken around the mid-1940s.
