Thank you to Russell Young for sending this photograph of his  grandmother, Jemima Oman, 3rd daughter of the Edinburgh and Hawick photogapher, George Oman.

Jemima was born in Hawick around 1873  [1881 census]  -  or 1872 if the details written on the back of this carted de visite are correct.

Russell wrote:

"This photograph is of Jemima Oman at the age of 10."

"It looks like the kind of studio shot taken to celebrate her birthday."
