Ian wrote: Grandfather "I found the picture of Jim Cairns' grandfather on North Bridge to be interesting. It made me pull out this old picture of my grandfather, John Miller, also taken on North Bridge. My mother's writing on the back of the photo says 'Aged around 40 years'. Jerome Yes, Ian: Most of Jerome's photos were studio portraits, produced as postcards. But the company did also take some street scenes. I have a few Jerome street scenes taken in Edinbrugh and elsewhere in my collection. Peter Stubbs: October 22, 2009 |

I've also seen a few Jerome photos of houses, some with people, presumably the occupants, standing at the door. I don't know how many of the Jerome studios also took this sort of photos. The photos that I've seen don't look very professional. e.g. house leaning at an angle of 10 degrees! |
