This postcard
was posted from Edinburgh to Helensburgh on 11 September 1905. It was
written by a mother to her son, Master C Allan. The message
read:
"My Dear C, We, Pa and I, have been
out a motor ride today ... nearly to Mid Calder. It was
dreadfully cold but we enjoyed it. Pa is buying a new
one tomorrow and we were testing it. It is frightfully
cold here today.
I am sorry last night's
letter was forgotten to be posted. I hope you get it
today. Love Mother."
[Mid Calder is a village in
West Lothian. It lies about ten miles to the west of
Swanston.] |
