Beaumont Place was part of the Dumbiedykes area
of Edinburgh, close to the north-west corner of Holyrood Park.
Housing in the area was demolished around the early-1960s and replaced by
Two demolition workers and a cloud of dust can be
seen on the left-hand side of the street.
This photograph was reproduced in 'The Scotsman' on 23 November
1959. George Smith, British Columbia, Canada, formerly Edinburgh,
describes the location:
"The picture shows the opposite side of
Beaumont Street from the
I guess the picture is that of a
demolition as the whole street came down .
The brewery is in the background - possibly Mackays?"[
