Saint Leonard's Hill

Request for a Photo

Joyce Ritchie was born in her grandparents' house at 7 St Leonard's Hill. Joyce is the daughter  of Wullie Croal who took several photos in and around  of Dumbiedykes and Holyrood Park that can now be found on the EdinPhoto web site.

Joyce would like to see an old photograph of the street.  If you know of such a photo that I might be able to add to the web site, please email me let me know.

Thank you to Joyce Duff, née Dalgleish for sending me this photograph of herself and Willie Dalgleish standing outside No 29 St Leonard's Hill.  The photo was taken in 1955 or 1956.

I have added some recent photos of the street, below.

I believe that the buildings are the same as they were a century ago.  They have been refurbished recently.
