To the Boatyard

Picture 1 shows a yacht being towed by a dumper truck from Granton Middle Pier into the Royal Forth Yacht Club boatyard on the afternoon on 7 April 2004.  There was a crane in the boatyard, lifting the boats into the water.

Launching the Yacht

Picture 2 shows a yacht being launched by crane from beside the Royal Forth Yacht Club clubhouse (at the right-hand side of this picture) at Middle Pier in Granton Harbour, 7 April 2004.

The light coloured buildings in the background towards the left-hand side of the picture are new apartments in Lower Granton Road.

Moorings

Picture 3 shows yachts at their moorings in Granton's Eastern Harbour.  The slipway beside the Royal Forth Yacht Club clubhouse on Middle Pier can be seen in the foreground.
