1.  From Granton Eastern Breakwater

Photo 2 is taken from the Eastern Breakwater looking to the west,  across Granton Eastern Harbour towards Central Pier, with the three gasometers still standing in the background.

2.  From Wardie

This photograph is taken from the higher ground at Wardie, looking over Granton's Eastern Harbour at low tide and Granton Middle Pier.

In the background, about four miles away, the Superfast Ferry is passing, en route from Zeebrugge, Belgium to Rosyth, Scotland.  It is 9.45am and the ferry is nearing the end of its overnight journey.

The ferry is passing in front of the island of Inchcolm  with its old abbey (close to the northern coast of the Firth of Forth, barely visible in this view) and is about to pass behind the small  island of Inchmickery in the centre of the Firth of Forth (clearly visible with its small jetty)
