Fairmilehead  -  Route 11

The Route

Fairmilehead is one of two termini at the southern end of Route 11 from Ocean Terminal, Leith.  The other southern terminus is at Hyvot's Bank in SE Edinburgh.

On Mondays to Saturdays, buses from Ocean Terminal go alternately to Hyvot's Bank and to Fairmilehead.  On Sundays, they all go to Hyvot's Bank.

The Photo

This photo was taken at 2.30pm on Christmas Eve, 2009.  It looks to the south down Biggar Road.  The bus on Route 11 is waiting to depart from Fairmilehead terminus on a 'part route' to Newhaven.  , The Fairmile Inn is just off this photo to the right.  One of its gateposts can be seen close to the right-hand side of the photo.  The inn closed some time ago and is now a rather sad sight.
