Granton Terminus

Granton Square has been used as a terminus for Edinburgh trams and buses for many years.  Here is a photograph of Granton Square, taken in the 1950s.

In the recent view, at the top of this page, we look to the east across Granton Square.

Route 32  -  History

Routes terminating at Granton Square have changed over the years.

Route 32 began as an Edinburgh Outer Circle route, circling the whole of Edinburgh.

By 2005 or possibly earlier, the southern part of the circle was missing.  The route ran:

FROM:  Clovenstone in SW Edinburgh

TO:       Royal Infirmary in SE Edinburgh.

From January 21, 2007:  The eastern part of the route was removed.  The route then ran:

FROM:   Clovenstone in SW Edinburgh

TO:        Pilton (Scottish Granton Gas HQ) in NW Edinburgh.

From April 6, 2008, a short part of the route was reinstated.  The route then ran:

FROM: Clovenstone in NW Edinburgh

TO:       Granton in North Edinburgh.

Route 32 - Today

Now (in June 2010)route 32 only operates mornings and evenings on weekdays, services departing Granton between 05.07 and 09.19 and between 16.04 and 18.54.  There is no service on Route 32 on Saturdays and Sundays.
