Craigleith Quarry

This view looks towards Edinburgh from Craigleith Quarry,  the source of stone for building Edinburgh New Town.  Workers can be seen in the quarry.

In the background is Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh Castle.

The quarry no longer exists.  The quarry has now been filled and is the site of the Craigleith Retail Centre, comprising a Sainsbury supermarket and other shops.
