This photograph was taken at the start of the Torchlight Procession on December 29, 2006. This view looks to the south across the Winter Wonderland ice rink in East Princes Street Gardens towards the floodlit Bank of Scotland Head Office at the top of the Mound. Funfairs can be seen beside the Winter Wonderland ice rink and in Market Street, in front of the floodlit Bank of Scotland HO. The procession started in Parliament Square, High Street, then came down the Mound and along Princes Street and Waterloo Place to Calton Hill. Some of the torches in the procession can just be seen to the right of the Bank of Scotland HO. |
