Established 1809

James Ritchie & Son were established in Edinburgh in 1809.  Here is an advert for the company, taken from the Edinburgh & Leith Post Office Directory, 1867

Watches and Clocks

The company was based at 54 Broughton Street for many years until they moved to Hanover Street in late 2007.

Here are some photos of watches and clocks under repair in the company's workshop in the basement of 54 Broughton Street.  These photos were taken in 1991 and 1992.

Public Clocks

Here are some photos of public clocks under repair at the company's workshop in Livingston, West Lothian.  These photos were taken in 1991 and 1992

Since these photos were taken, Ritchie's workshop has moved from Livingston to Broxburn in West Lothian.
