Here, the runners passing the lighthouse in West Shore Road, Granton, shortly before approaching the '17 Mile' marker at Granton. This section of the course runs along the Firth of Forth from Silverknowes through Newhaven and Leith Harbour to Portobello. The lighthouse is situated in the 'Edinburgh Waterfront' district beside the Firth of Forth, an area being developed over a period of 15 years from 2003. The Northern Lighthouse Board moved out of these premises around 2002. Now [ Nov 2004] the lighthouse is used by Lighthouse Studios and the building to its right is used by Hi-Rope Engineering Services. |
