The View
In the lower right corner of this photo,
there is an open-top tram on Great Junction Street, crossing
Junction Bridge over the Water of Leith.
This view looks downstream, to the NE,
towards where the Water of Leith joins the Firth of Forth.
- Which shipyard is that in
the lower-centre of the picture?
- What is the large
industrial building beyond the shipyard, on the north bank of
the Water of Leith. |
The Publisher
I don't know the publisher of this post
card. I have only seen the front of the card. The
numbering on the card and / or having a look at the back of
this card might reveal who the publisher was.

The Picture
"That's a
lovely old picture of Hawthorn's shipyard. The building
nearest the bridge is where the State now stands.
The station
booking office on the west side of the bridge and the
horse-drawn tram should help date this one.
