Thank you to

Memories
"I'm planning to record my
Dad's memories of:
-
Yeoman Place where he and his brothers were
raised before they went into the Forces.
-
East Thomas Street, where he moved to in 1950
after marrying my Mum.
My Dad, who is now 80,
remembers exactly who lived where and who was married to whom."

"That's a very nice photo of the street
party.

The lady standing middle-left
of the picture with the cardigan and dress on is my grandmother, Mary
Keighren's sister, Jeanie Stevenson.
I am in the street myself, somewhere, but
unfortunately in a pram. It's the year I was born.
I bet I never even got a wee dram in my bottle."

"Looking at the street party photo
and comment by John Welsh,
above, I think the lady he mentions was also my Granny.
I am Jim Stevenson and my Dad's
name was Jackie (John). He had two sisters,
Margaret and Janet, and two brothers Jim and
Rob.
My Granny lived in 18 East Thomas
Street (top floor) with my uncle Jim.
I think my aunt Margaret lived on the ground floor of
No.18 until she moved to somewhere near Easter
Road. She had two sons."
