The View Here, the view to the north from Granton Road, looking across the Firth of Forth is almost hidden by shrubs. The 'Nanny Park' sign in the foreground was erected in summer 2008 by Andrew Boath, chairman of the Granton History Group. This is the name by which this slope on the north side of Granton Road used to be known, from the time that goats used to graze there. Archie can just be seen, to the left of the the sign post in the enlargement of this photo. He is wearing a light shirt and dark trousers and is raking the lawn in his back garden. |
