About three thousand
prefab
houses were erected in Edinburgh in the 1940s, to cope with the housing
shortage following World War 2.
Prefab houses had an expected
life of 15 years. Most have now been replaced, but some are
still standing, and looking in very good condition, in the Moredun, and
Craigour area of Edinburgh, close to the new Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
The houses here are 38 and 36, Moredun Park. |
