The snack van can be
seen here, parked in New Mart Road, close to the centre of the
picture.
This view looks to the
NW across one of the fields where the sheep used to graze before
going to market. The shell of the former sheep and cattle
markets can be seen in the background.
The former corn
exchange is on the extreme left of the picture..
The snack van arrived
in this area a few years earlier to support the builders working
on the new Asda Supermarket at Slateford.
It has remained here as building
work has continued in this district. The nearby corn market is still
standing, but no longer in use as a corn market.
The land behind the shell of the cattle market is being
redeveloped for housing.
