The North Bridge

The North Bridge (1)

The first North Bridge was built in 1772 to link the Royal Mile and the Old Town of Edinburgh (across the valley where Waverley railway station is now situated) to the New Town of Edinburgh being built about half a mile to the north.

The North Bridge (2)

This bridge was replaced by a wider North Bridge, opened 1900.
