Dalmeny

The Forth Bridge

Dalmeny is a small village situated a short distance inland, on higher ground above South Queensferry.  Dalmeny station is the last station on the railway line leading to the north from Edinburgh before crossing the Forth Rail Bridge.

I have some photos of Dalmeny Station, still to be added to this web site.

The Ferry

The main route to the north from Edinburgh was by ferry from South Queensferry to North Queensferry in Fife.

The Forth Road Bridge, and its dual carriageway leading towards Edinburgh had not yet been built.

Dalmeny Estate

The Dalmeny Estate and Dalmeny House lie beside the Firth of Forth, between South Queensferry and Cramond.
