Cavalcade processed over Waverley Bridge then along Princes
Street) at the start of the Edinburgh Festival on 3 August 2003.
Immediately after the Cavalcade had passed, and before the
crowds had dispersed, the Edinburgh City cleansing department
lorries appeared (above) in Waverley Bridge and began to clean the
streets.

with St Giles church on the skyline (centre right). The roof
of Edinburgh Waverley Railway station can be seen in the
