Since the LRT works closed at Shrubhill, much of the maintenance work for the buses, now Lothian Buses, has been done at Seafield. Seafield Works are beside the Firth of Forth, a short distance to the west of Portobello Bus Depot. Lothian Buses recently sold its fleet of coaches. It no longer operates long distance tours, but it has now [2004] taken over the companies that operated sightseeing tours of Edinburgh, including Mac Tours with its fleet of vintage buses. The buses used for these tours are kept and maintained at Seafield. The double decker Mac Tour buses in these pictures, all looking very smart, are ex-London Routemasters. |
