East Pilton Station

In the final days before the railway closed it was operated by DMUs (Diesel Multiple Units). 

Here, one can be seen at East Pilton Station in April 1962.  This station served Bruce Peebles' engineering factory.  The factory recently closed after a major fire and the area is now [2005] being developed for housing.

Like many other former railways around Edinburgh, this has now been converted to a cycle track and walkway.

When I was looking through your site the other night
I spotted this picture of Pilton Station.

If you look under the bridge you can see a house in the distance. That was the house I lived in at Boswall Avenue!
