Edinburgh's last tram ran on 16 November 1956. A large crowd watched as the final three trams, the first one decorated, and a restored horsebox made their way to a ceremony at the Foot of the Mound on the evening of Friday 16 November 1956. They then made their final journey to Shrubhill depot, passing through the crowds watching from Princes Street, St Andrew Square, York Place and Leith Walk. |
