Upper-deck of Tram Cars This is one of two photographs of the repair shop, showing the plank scaffolding suspended from the roof at Shrubhill Repair Shop, Leith Walk. The other photograph shows repairs being carried out on single deck trams. The Shrubhill works housed the engine for to drive the cable for the Edinburgh's tramways during the cable car days in the early 1900s. Edinburgh's transport repair depot remained at Shrubhill until the 1990s. The building has now been sold and is expected to be redeveloped as housing. |
