Stereo View from Lennie

British Linen Bank

St Andrew Square

The Bank

Here is a view of the British Linen Bank, from the west.  The bank is situated on the east side of South St Andrew Street and looks very similar today, having, as a result of takeovers and mergers, become an Office of Bank of Scotland and now HBoS.

The Stereo View

This seems to be the result of two separate photographs - i.e. not taken simultaneously.  The horse's head appears to be in a different position in each picture, though not very clear to see because of its movement.

There is nothing printed on the back of this card, but there is written in ink:

Edinburgh

British Linen Comp. Bank

183

G. Dickson

I don't know the significance of lines 3 and 4 above.
