Thank you to Bryan Gourlay, Biggar, Lanarkshire for sending me several portraits of his family, including two from the Parisian Photo Co, 75 Princes Street, probably taken around 1903 and this one perhaps taken a couple of years later. Brian wrote "You mention on your site that you do not see too many photographs of men from the Parisian Photo Co studio in Edinburgh. Attached is one of my great-grandfather in his fire officer’s uniform. He left the Edinburgh Fire Service in 1900, after 17 years, to become the fireman at the Theatre Royal for a few years, during which time this photo was taken. I would put it at around 1905.
