The Forth Bridge

and Ferry Boat

'Forfarshire'

This view is taken form a 'Judges' postcard.  Many of the 'Judges' postcards, including this one look rather dull and gloomy to me, so I have made this image rather brighter to bring out more detail of the boat.

The boat is 'Forfarshire' which was built in 1861 and operated the Queensferry passage from 1893.  The boat was given its tall funnel when it was re-boilered in 1904.  It was broken up in 1922.  So the photograph above must have been taken between 1904 and 1922.
