1842 Thank you to Miles Cumming for allowing me to reproduce his photograph above, showing of one of the 1842 lamp posts at Middle Pier, Granton Harbour. Miles wrote: "As you no doubt would agree, things are changing very quickly around the Granton waterfront. I was dismayed, to find an original lamp had 'disappeared' shortly after I'd photographed it!. Maybe it's been saved." Miles Cumming, Edinburgh: May 16, 2007 |

Listed Let's hope the lamp post is being saved, and possibly restored. Granton Middle Pier, including slipways, wharves and lamp standards have been listed 'Category A' by Historic Scotland since 1989. - Peter Stubbs: May 18, 2007 |
