Platform Building The building on the platform in the photo at the top of this page looks familiar to me. Is this another photograph of it? UPDATE: No, it's not. See 'Recollections 1' below. Rifles I remember being told that, during World War II Bruce Peebles' works were defended by men on the platform at East Pilton station with rifles - but they were just dummy rifles, made of wood. (I forget who told me.) I don't know whether the men with the guns were cadets, or were from some other group. Peter Stubbs, Edinburgh: August 4, 2015 |
