the sketch above, and for providing the following comments on two of the
water tanks in Edinburgh Old Town in the 1940s.

Water Tank at
Arthur Street
"There
was a water tank at the top of Arthur Street but it was much smaller than
the one at the church.
The Arthur Street tank was
a metal tank made from steel panels. it was about 16 feet square and four
feet deep with a wire mesh cover to stop us from climbing into it.
