Photo  -  Early-1900s

This view, looks to the north down South Bridge, which leads into North Bridge then to the East End of Princes Street, about half a mile away.

The cable-car tracks (with the central line through which the cable car's gripper passes to grip the cable) can be seen on the cobbled streets.  There are more pedestrians than traffic.

Edinburgh University is the building on the left with the dome. 

The church beyond the University is the Tron Kirk at the junction of South Bridge and the Royal Mile.
