Sotires Georgiades first advertised in the Scotsman in late-1849,
having moved into the studio at 4, Mound following
George Popowitz's move there to 60
Princes Street.
The first advert below gives the location of 4, Mound and also lists
the charges made for photography.

PHOTOGRAPHY
DAGUERREOTYPE PORTRAITS, with the
latest Improvements, are artistically executed by S. GEORGIADES,
late of Paris, in his Photographic Establishment, No 4 MOUND, First
Door below the Panorama.
The sitters have all the privacy
they may wish, and their general comfort is secured by the
accommodation afforded. The charges are moderate, being 5s 6d
for the smallest size Portrait; 8s 6d for the middle size and
15s 6d for the largest size. Family Groups are taken at a
small advance from these charges.

By September 1850, Georgiades had moved to a
studio at 75 Princes Street. It was from this address that Mr
John Stanley had sold his 'Finest
Miniatures' before leaving Edinburgh for London in 1850.

unfavourable influences of bad weather.

execute DAGUERREOTYPE PORTRAITS of a very superior description, at
the above premises.
For the purpose of regulating the
influences of the weather, and ensuring a correct and accurate
likeness in any condition of the atmosphere, he has constructed a
larger Glass Chamber, in which the unfavourable effects of rain,
&c., are completely neutralised.
For the convenience of Ladies and
others who may dislike the Public Room, Mr S.G. has private
apartments suitably fitted up.
