Thank you to Jeanie and Nic Maennling for

"I came upon
this photograph in an antique shop in Perth, Canada.
I bought it
purely for the subject matter. I loved the little donkeys and the
portable swimming cabana.
The photographer's
stamp on the card upon which it is mounted reads "Edwards & Harrison,
Main St., Pembroke. The caption in white ink on the mount reads:
'Beach
near Portobello Pier - June 1900'."
Jeanie added:
"Many of the
villages and towns in the area are named after places in Scotland because
these places were settled by Scottish immigrants. Our little village has
a tiny river running through it called the Clyde!"
