The snow in
Princes
Street Gardens draws attention to the shapes of the trees, the small
bandstand (now gone) and
Edinburgh Castle
on Castle Rock.
In recent years there have
been very few days when Princes Street Gardens have had a covering of
snow. In the early 1900s, when this photograph was taken the winters
appear to have been colder, with skaters and curlers to be found on the
lochs in Queen's
Park. |
