Thank you to Peter Hodds, Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk, England
for providing the stereo view by Archibald Burns, above:

Fothergill's Process
"Here is
an early Burns stereoview. It occurred to me that this may be one of
the "Fothergill's Process" stereographs that Burns sent to the
3rd PSS Exhibition in
December 1858, or perhaps one of the examples which he sent
to Photographic News in 1859.
The card stock is certainly of the period and the
reverse side is inscribed very neatly and signed. Note that there is an "AW"
blindstamp in the corner, which was punched after Burns added the written
details"

3rd PSS Exhibition
I have not yet been able to discover exactly which stereo views Archibald
Burns entered in the 3rd PSS Exhibition. The catalogue for this
exhibition lists two entries by Archibald Burns. Each of these entries
is described as:
"10 stereographs: Views of Scotland".
