Here are a few examples of school class photos taken by D&W Prophet.

The company was based in Dundee.  According to the trade directories, D&W Prophet had a studio in Edinburgh only for a few years (1906-1910).

However, from the late 19th century until around the 1960s, the company photographed many school classed in Edinburgh and elsewhere in Scotland

School Class Photographs

Prophet  -  Dundee & Edinburgh

On most of the Prophet photographs of school classes that I have seen, the company has given its address as 'Prophet, Dundee'.

However, the address for some of their photos, including the 1947-48 photograph of the school class at Preston Street school, above has been given as 17 East Camus Place, Edinbrugh.

This sounds to me to be more likely to be a private address than a studio address.  I have not seen this address for Prophet given in any of the old Edinburgh trade directories.
