The Turnbull family had the following studios in Edinburgh

Robert Turnbull also had a studio at Portobello, the seaside resort on
the Firth of Forth about five miles to the east of Edinburgh. Below
is one of his studio portraits, no doubt from the Portobello studio.

When did Robert Turnbull's studio operate in Portobello, and what was its
address. I have found no reference to this studio in the trade
directories. Perhaps, like others, it operated in the summer months

just noticed the back of an 1873 CdV that reads:

determining when the last six studios listed above were operating.
Hugh wrote:
"I have a 2-1/2" x 4" photo by
Turnbull and Sons. The address is 10 Jamaica St, corner of Argyle St.
Glasgow. There are five other locations on the back of the picture,
which also has a drawing of their business building at 10 Jamaica St."
The six addressed given by Hugh are
the same as the last six in the table above.
"The person in the photo is a great
Aunt who appears to be about 16 to 20 years old. She was born between
1870 and 1872."
