The photographer, Marshall Wane who operated photographic studios in the Isle of Man then Edinburgh was born in Manchester. 

 He was christened on 15 Dec 1833  at Manchester Cathedral. 

I assume that this christening refers to Marshall Wane, the photographer.  It is the only birth record that I have found for a Marshall Wane in the Manchester area (or elsewhere in the UK)   Frances Coakley whose web site covers the Isle of Man says:

"Wane is quite common it seems around Eccleston by Chorley and a William Wane and Mary Ashcroft would fit as parents but that is pure conjecture."

Marshall Wane died at 25 Montgomery Street, Glasgow on 14 December 1903.

 His death certificate records his parents as:

-  Father:   William Wane,  Goods Warehouse Shipping Clerk (Foreman)
-  Mother:  ... De Tolly
