Many photos of the Forth Bridge have been taken from beside the Firth
of Forth at South Queensferry, but this one has been taken from higher
ground a little further back from the water at South Queensferry.

It shows the wooden jetty immediately to the east (right) of the
stone pillars of the bridge, and to the west (left) of the furthest
stone pillar. This was presumably used during the construction of
the bridge, and remained for some time after the bridge was completed in
1890.
When is this photograph likely to have been taken? If you are
able to tell, from this jetty, when the photo may have been taken,
please
e-mail me.
