Model Yacht

Thank you to  Walter Lyle Hume for sending me the photographs above and the comments below.  Walter used to live in Newhaven, Edinburgh and now lives in Cowes, Isle of Wight, England.

Walter wrote

"We used to have a second home in Forth Street, North Berwick, shown here, as we went home after one of the yachting races – best yacht – best all round – events at the East Beach pool.

Balmain was taking pictures when the heavens opened and everyone scattered, including sisters and self. 

The photographer caught up with us (his bicycle is in the right background) in Forth Street just before our gate and here is the result, prints were gratis as he, Balmain, was a friend of my Father.

The  faded date on back is August 1937."
