The View

This view looks to the east  towards Edinburgh.  The landmarks identified on the skyline are (left to right):

-  Edinburgh Castle  (4 miles)

-  Arthur's Seat  (5 miles)

-  Corstorphine Hill  (1 mile) *

These can be seen a little more clearly on this larger picture of the poster.

Hens

The small print on the poster, beneath the name and address of the farm, reads:

"Accommodation for 200,000 laying hens"

* The farm at Clermiston was about five miles from the centre of Edinburgh by road.

  The distances to the landmarks on the skyline above are direct (straight line) distances.

Bill tells me that his book has now been published and is likely to be reviewed within the next few days in 'The Scotsman' or 'Scotland on Sunday'.
